(12/22/18) Happy Saturday! It’s been a fairly pleasant day with mostly sunny skies and a few passing clouds. We’ve had a breeze across much of the ArkLaMiss today, and this wind will continue through tonight into tomorrow.
We will see a weak front move through later tonight into tomorrow morning. All this will do is bring a shift in our wind direction and cool us down by a few degrees. Good news is we should not be seeing any precip out of this.
Christmas Eve and Day should be dry and nice, for the most part. Clouds will increase on Christmas Day with an ever so slight chance of a rain shower. Most will be dry, and honestly I think everyone should remain dry, but there is just enough of a chance to where it needs to be mentioned.
The more pronounced rain chances move in later for the day after Christmas, as a system approaches from the west.
This system will bring showers and thunderstorms back for Thursday. There could be some severe weather with this system, but as it is now, details are not clear enough for a confident forecast. We’ll keep you updated as we get closer to Thursday, but as it is now, the overall threat appears low.
We do look nice for the upcoming weekend, with cooler temps and mostly sunny skies.
Looking a little further down the road, models have been consistent on bringing some sort of system through for the New Years Eve/Day timeframe. Again, details are not clear as we are about 2 weeks out from that day, but I know many people are going to be out and about on that night. At this time, plan on experiencing some sort of precipitation occurring. As always, we will keep you updated as we get closer.
