Happy Memorial Day! Alberto is expecting to make landfall today as a Subtropical Storm with maximum sustained winds at 65 MPH. Heavy rains are expected and flooding and flash flooding may become an issue along the Gulf coast from Mississippi all the way to the Florida panhandle.
We could see some showers from the outer bands of Alberto today and Tuesday afternoon, but they will appear like summertime afternoon scattered showers. We might see 0.1″ of rain through Wednesday, but not anymore than that.
Temperatures are going to stay mild for Memorial Day and for Tuesday with afternoon highs only reaching the low 90’s. By Wednesday, we will see northerly winds shift to the south, temperatures rise to the mid to upper 90’s, and heat indices pushing borderline triple digits by the upcoming weekend.
