Weather Forecast- Wednesday, April 17th


(4/17/2019) Good Wednesday morning! It’s a cloudy start to the day with temperatures sitting in the 60’s. We’re going to warm back up into the upper 70’s this afternoon with breezy winds from the south and the chance for a few isolated showers this evening. Skies will be overcast this morning with occasional breaks in the clouds allowing for peeks of sunshine this afternoon. Some spotty showers are possible through the evening. 

Overnight we will see the rain return to the forecast with a strong line of storms beginning to our west tomorrow morning. Around 4-5am our severe threat will begin as storms enter the coverage area.

We’ll see a slight risk for the bulk of our coverage area, with an upgraded threat to enhanced for the riverside parishes. Timing will be morning through early afternoon as storms move from west to east. All modes of severe weather will be possible, including damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado threat. Locally heavy rainfall leading to some flash flooding is also likely. 1-3″ expected area-wide with some locally higher amounts. Be sure to stay weather aware again tomorrow! We’ll finally get a break from all the busy weather for Easter weekend with sunny skies and dry conditions.
