(3/12/2019) Good Tuesday morning! It’s a cool and cloudy start to the day with temperatures sitting in the low to mid 50’s across the ArkLaMiss as you step out. Rain chances will remain low today, around 10%. Just patchy drizzle is possible through the morning and lunchtime before the rain chances are taken out by the afternoon as skies break a bit. Skies will be mostly cloudy this afternoon, allowing for some peeks of sunshine. Highs will be near 70° today with winds form the southeast.
Overnight lows are going to dip back down near 60° as skies remain cloudy and winds begin to pick up from the southeast.
Tomorrow we are looking at our next threat for severe weather across the ArkLaMiss. A passing cold front will bring a line of showers and storms to the area beginning early afternoon through the evening. The primary threats for severe storms will be damaging winds, along with heavy rainfall and a brief, weak tornado. The storms will begin towards Shreveport during the early afternoon, and pass through during the afternoon and evening, clearing across the MS River after sunset. Winds could gust 40-50+ mph as the storms pass through. Rainfall totals will be between 1-3″ with locally higher amounts possible. Be sure to have multiple ways to receive watches and warnings and have a severe weather plan in place!
