Good Tuesday morning and Happy Fat Tuesday! It’s a cloudy morning and we’re looking at rain chances back in the forecast by late morning through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures as you leave the house will be down in the upper 30’s-lower 40’s and we will climb to around 50° for a high this afternoon. Winds are out of the northeast. We’re looking at shower activity showing up on radar by around lunchtime with the best chance to see some heavy showers and thunderstorms today south of I-20. Rainfall totals south of I-20 closer to Alexandria will be nearing 1″ through today with the potential for locally higher amounts where those downpours set up. Along and north of I-20 will be more of a scattered look on radar with accumulations staying much lower, <0.5″.
Overnight lows are not going to be falling much, only in the mid to upper 40’s a few degrees cooler than our afternoon highs today. Winds will calm down and eventually shift out of the southeast which will be pumping in more moisture helping aid those temperature climbs for tomorrow.
Wednesday, Valentine’s Day, we are going to continue to see some scattered showers in the forecast throughout the day. The highest rain chances will be through the morning and afternoon with some eventual drying out after sunset. Temperatures will be much warmer, topping out near 70° with southerly winds and overcast skies.
