(4/18/2019) Good Thursday morning! It’s a rainy start to the day with showers and storms beginning to enter the coverage area off to our west. We’re going to be seeing a soggy forecast for today with showers and storms increasing in coverage through the remainder of the morning and lasting all afternoon. Rainfall totals will be between 1-3″ with locally higher amounts expected, flash flooding will be possible. The best timing for severe storms will be late this morning through the afternoon. Storms will increase in strength through the day as temperatures warm up and storms can tap into more instability. Our riverside parishes are under and enhanced risk. Damaging winds, localized flooding, and an isolated tornado will be the primary threats.Once the strongest storms clear out later this afternoon, we will gradually clear and dry out overnight. Lows tonight will drop into the 50’s with winds shifting out of the northwest.
Tomorrow we will keep the brief chance for an isolated shower in the forecast with partly cloudy skies and the chance for an isolated shower or two. Highs will stay in the 60’s.
Our forecast will be gorgeous for Easter weekend! Highs in the 70’s and 80’s with sunny skies and no rain. Morning lows will be in the 40’s and 50’s, enjoy the weekend!
