Weather Forecast- Monday, February 19th

Good Monday morning! It’s a mild and cloudy morning with temps in the lower 60’s and some patchy fog across the ArkLaMiss. Take it slow on the roads and use those headlights. We will see mostly cloudy skies through the day with some peeks of sunshine, breezy winds from the south, and temperatures nearing record highs this afternoon. We will top out around 80° (record high 81°). There is no chance for rain today, but that will change beginning tomorrow.

Overnight lows will drop down in the low to mid 60’s with cloudy skies and winds from the south, a lot like this morning.

Tomorrow we will see rain chances back in the forecast. It should remain mostly isolated across our coverage area with mostly cloudy skies and high temps nearing the lower 80’s once again, with record highs in play. Winds will be breezy out of the south. Rain chances will ramp up Wednesday, bringing heavy rain to the entire ArkLaMiss.

A slow moving system will make its way toward the ArkLaMiss by Wednesday, which will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms with the potential for heavy rainfall and flash flooding across the entire coverage area. Wednesday along we should see most of the coverage area come in between 1″-3″ and we will continue to add to that through the end of the work week into the weekend, where some spots in south central Arkansas could come close to half a foot of rain through Sunday. Flash flooding will be an issue so be sure to make those preparations today, cleaning out gutters and storm drains, and remember to never drive or walk through flooded roadways.
