Cool and sunny start to the work week

WEST MONROE, La. - (12/03/2018) Good Monday morning! It's a chilly start outside today with temps falling into the upper 30's and lower 40's across the ArkLaMiss. We'll only warm up into the mid to upper 50's this afternoon, much cooler than the weekend. Skies will remain partly sunny all day with winds from the north, leaving us with a relatively quiet forecast for the next few days as high pressure builds into the area.

Overnight lows will be cold, down near freezing. Most spots will be in the low to mid 30's with southern Arkansas looking to get below freezing with clear skies and northerly winds.

Tomorrow is going to be cooler during the afternoon with nothing but sunshine through the day. Highs will top out near 51° with winds from the north and sunny skies. No more rain chances in our forecast until the end of the week.

A heads up- heavy rainfall will be likely towards the end of our forecast. Friday and overnight into Saturday we should see a system bring widespread rain with the potential for some localized flash flooding. Area totals will likely fall in between 2-4" with some locally higher amounts possible.
