WEST MONROE, La. - (1/25/2019) Good Friday morning! It's another chilly start to the day with temperatures down in the lower 30's as you leave the house. Keep the extra jackets and coats handy today as temperatures are going to be staying chilly all afternoon long. Highs today will stick in the mid 40's with abundant sunshine. Winds have shifted back out of the north-northeast reinforcing the colder air. There is no chance for rain in the forecast for the next few days, until next work week.
Overnight lows will dip back near freezing in the low to mid 30's with some more clouds rolling in. Winds will also shift from the south, eventually helping us warm up a bit this weekend.
Tomorrow we've got partly cloudy skies in the forecast and high temperatures in the mid 50's. Winds are returning from the south so more mild air will be moving in helping us warm back up a bit through the weekend. Aside from a few more clouds tomorrow and Sunday, temperatures will warm and and make for a pelasant weekend. Sunday the high temperatures will be in the lower 60's. Enjoy the beautiful weather!
A passing cold front late Monday night into Tuesday morning is going to bring some potential for rain/wintry mix/and some flurries. It's still a few days too far out to have high confidence in a forecast like that, but there is good model agreement for now and if it gets cold enough behind the front, we could see some light accumulation. We'll continue to update and tweak the forecast as needed.
