(4/26/2019) Good Friday morning! After a busy day on Thursday, we finally have some gorgeous weather to look forward to for today and into the weekend. Before the forecast… a quick recap on yesterday’s storms. There have been six confirmed tornado tracks from the ArkLaMiss yesterday. Most notable, the EF3 that claimed two lives in Ruston just before 2am. An EF2 tracked through Morehouse Parish into Ashley County. Three EF1’s touched down, two in Bienville Parish, one in Union Parish. Also a confirmed tornado in LaSalle Parish, which has not been rated yet but will be surveyed by the National Weather Service today. These reports are still preliminary, and subject to change.
Now that all the bad weather is behind us, we have some nice days to look forward to. Today is going to be sunny all day long. High temperatures will climb into the upper 70’s this afternoon with breezy winds from the northwest, between 10-15 mph.
Overnight lows will drop into the lower 50’s with clear skies and no rain.
Saturday we may see a few passing upper level clouds through the afternoon, but skies will remain mostly sunny with highs in the lower 80’s. Winds will be breezy out of the southwest.
A quick, passing shower is possible on Sunday morning, but rain should remain light. Sunday afternoon we will clear out and see a mix of sun and clouds with highs around 80°.
Humidity returns next week, and highs will crank up into the mid 80’s. Rain chances will ramp up through mid-week.
