Evening forecast for Wednesday, May 2

A powerful storm system to our northwest and high pressure to our south keep most of the ArkLaMiss cloudy, muggy, and generally rain-free. Leftovers from that system will likely bring rain for much of the area this weekend.

A ridge of high pressure across the northern Gulf has kept most of the ArkLaMiss near seasonal norms in terms of temperatures. That high pressure center will be pushed south this weekend, allowing the remnants of a storm system to bring rain chances back in.

Most of the rain should be scattered, and severe weather is not expected. Scattered storms will be possible Friday, with a better shot at storms for Saturday. Skies will clear early next week as temperatures remain close to normal for this time of year.
