An expansive upper-level ridge of high pressure keeps hot, humid conditions in the ArkLaMiss through the upcoming weekend, with limited rain chances next week.
High pressure aloft across the central United States will continue to expand over the next few days, keeping unseasonably warm temperatures across much of the southern United States. Rain chances through Saturday will remain close to zero with sunny to mostly sunny skies.
By Sunday, low-level moisture should increase to point where isolated to scattered afternoon storms could work back into the forecast. That’s what is expected to happen for the early half of next week, plus the added clouds could help knock temperatures down a few degrees.
Regardless, this summertime pattern is likely to continue through most of the next week or two across much of the region.
