Evening forecast for Wednesday, April 3

An upper-level disturbance will provide the potential for scattered showers and storms through the day on Thursday, and some of those storms could be severe.

Scattered storms could develop as early as early to mid-morning across the ArkLaMiss. These early storms will be capable of small hail, but widespread severe storms are not expected.

As the atmosphere warms and destabilizes, the upper-level disturbance will eject eastward in the late afternoon and evening. This will provide the best window for severe weather, with large hail and isolated tornadoes as the primary concern. Storms will continue to advance southeastward toward midnight.

Residents are urged to have multiple ways of receiving severe weather alerts through the day/night on Thursday.

Another disturbance will keep scattered showers and storms in the forecast for the weekend, but widespread severe weather is not anticipated. Temperatures will be warm, in the low 80s for highs, through the weekend.
