Evening forecast for Thursday, October 4

A shift in the upper-level pattern will trigger showers and storms across the region this weekend, with the potential for additional rainfall through much of next week.

A stout, upper-level ridge of high pressure will relax and get pushed eastward slowly as a trough of low pressure enters through the western United States. The slow evolution of that trough will provide weak upper-level impulses (disturbances) next week, with scattered storms possible daily.

The depth of cool air behind this system should be limited, but temperatures will take a slight dip to more seasonal norms through the middle of next week.
