WEST MONROE, La. — (6/6/09) A complex of showers and storms led to severe weather and flash flooding across southern Louisiana this morning. In turn, rain coverage has been much more limited in the ArkLaMiss than earlier anticipated.
As moisture remains limited, occasional showers and storms are expected through Saturday. By Sunday, sunshine and drier conditions will become more dominant.
A weak cold front could bring a brief break in the warm, humid air by early next week, knocking high temperatures into the upper 80s.
Regardless, some brief, heavy downpours will remain with any developing showers and storms through the weekend.
