After another very hot day across the ArkLaMiss, the forecast looks to change starting Friday and continuing through the weekend.
A series of upper-level disturbances will force our dome of high pressure westward through the weekend, allowing a cold front to move through the Mississippi Valley. Scattered showers and storms will be possible starting late Friday and continuing through much of the day on Saturday. Some isolated strong storms will be possible, but widespread severe weather is not anticipated.
Behind the front, a noticeable cool down is likely… with highs falling into the upper 80s for a few days, and morning lows into the upper 60s. Lower humidity values will also make things unseasonably more comfortable across the area.
A slow warming trend is expected by the middle of next week. High temperatures will return to the low to mid 90s with some isolated storms back in the forecast by next Thursday.
