Record-breaking highs will be possible again through the day tomorrow before widespread showers and storms overtake the area for most of the remainder of the week.
A deep trough of low pressure will work with high amounts of sub-tropical moisture over the next several days. Widespread showers and storms will move through starting late Tuesday and continuing through Wednesday.
While showers and storms will remain in the forecast through Saturday, the heaviest rain totals are likely through mid-week. Some stronger, more organized storms could be possible by Saturday.
Regardless, rain totals over the next week will likely be highest across south Arkansas (2-5″ with locally higher amounts). Lighter amounts will be more likely toward the Mississippi Valley (between 1-2″ total).
