High pressure has moved back in across the northern Gulf, pushing our stationary front out of the region for good over the next day or so. Southerly winds will allow for some clouds and muggy afternoons, but settling Saharan dust will keep rain chances at a minimum through Wednesday.
A series of weak, upper-level disturbances starts impacting the ArkLaMiss by Thursday. Isolated to scattered showers and storms appear possible from Thursday through Saturday. Temperatures may dip slightly, but will likely stay in the 90s.
Heat index values could reach 100° daily through the next week, so residents are encouraged to practice heat safety through the afternoon hours.
