Officials are making sure visitors have the best experience possible while preparing for the worst.
The Monroe Police Department recommends parents to place a 3 by 5 index card in their child’s pocket with the child’s name, the guardian’s name, and contact numbers law enforcement can call in the case of a lost child. All lost children will be taken to one of the two Monroe PD command centers.
“If a child does wonder off, there are people that are here and willing and ready to assist to find the children,” Mike Shields, President of the fair board, said.
Officials also remind visitors that no smoking, alcohol, or weapons will be allowed. All purses, backpacks, and diaper bags will be checked at the entry.
Visitors should also remember to stay hydrated.
