New Missile Plant Heading to East Camden

Camden, Ark. (KTVE/KARD) -- Two entities are coming together in East Camden to build a new $33M manufacturing facility. The facility will produce missiles for the Iron Dome Weapon System to be used by the US Marines and our allies. The announcement was made on Thursday (10/26/2023) as Ouachita and Calhoun County officials joined Governor Sarah Sanders at the Governor's Mansion. A co-operative partnership between RTX and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to support Israel and our forces. The construction will take place in Calhoun County at the Highland Industrial Park. Ouachita County Judge Robert McAdoo gave praise to Governor Sanders, Arkansas Economic Development, the Ouachita Partnership of Economic Development and its Director, James Lee Silliman, for helping to make this facility a reality. Judge McAdoo says that the facility will provide around 30 jobs and will benefit the economy in the region.

Hope Landing: Christmas on the Ranch 2023

El Dorado, Ark. (KTVE/KARD) -- Hope Landing will host a steak cook-off as well as an ancillary dessert cook-off, sanctioned by the Steak Cook-Off Association. Steak plates are available for $25.00 Until tomorrow December 1st. On the 9th you'll drive through the barn that has been decorated by the kids and your plates will be given to you to take home and enjoy.

Kristi Lowery, President and CEO of Hope Landing, tells us that "At Hope Landing, we provide services to children birth to 21 without placing our financial burden upon their families. And so, our fundraisers, like the Steak Cook-off competition, help offset those therapeutic services that we're providing as to not place that financial burden back on to the families."

Tickets are available at Hope Landing, from any Hope Landing employee, board member, or just call the clinic at (870) 862-0500 to request them. Steak plates will be ready for pick up between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. at hope landing on December 9th.
