Nobody Covers Your Team Like Our Team, Boys ‘Marsh Madness’ Championship

Local Sports

Nobody covers your team like NBC 10 Sports.

During the LHSAA boys basketball Top 28, NBC 10 was the only area TV station to provide daily and live coverage from Lake Charles.

Northeast Louisiana was represented with eight area teams in the tournament.

On Monday, the season came to a close for Delhi, Jonesboro-Hodge and Atlanta. But, Rayville and Summerfield each advanced to championship games in their respective classes.

Following a break in action on Tuesday, two NELA teams returned to the hardwood on Wednesday. Weston’s run in the Top 28 ended. Simsboro’s season was extended, thanks to late game heroics.

Thursday night, Ouachita lost a tough battle to Walker. But, Wossman upset Peabody.

On Friday, two local squads were playing for state titles. In 2A, Rayville went back-to-back. Meanwhile, Summerfield fell short to Simpson.

On the final day of “Marsh Madness” Simsboro repeated as Class B champions. Meanwhile, Wossman was denied for their first title since 2008.
