The 2019 MLB draft saw several local baseball stars get their names called over the course of its three days. ULM had three players get drafted for the first time since 2012. Chad Bell went first in the 19th round to the New York Yankees. Trent Tingelstad then went in the 22nd round to the Mariners, and finally, Trey Jeans would go to the White Sox in the 33rd round.
Louisiana Tech was also represented in the draft this year as David Leal was selected by the Oakland A’s in the 38th round. Arkansas and LSU were well represented as always, as both programs had several players being selected.
