MONROE — Times have been tough for Coach Bruce Peddie and company with the team losing seven of their last eight games.
But, the Warhawks were able to get the 3-1 victory over Nicholls State on Tuesday night.
RBI singles from Anthony Herrera and Nathan Pugh in the bottom of the sixth inning helped ULM in the win.
Starting pitcher Trey Auger got the home team off to a good start, as he struck out four batters in 3 2/3 innings of work.
After the game Peddie credited the pitching and timely hitting, “I think Trey [Auger] did a really good job for us for 3 2/3 innings. And, then the bullpen did a really good job for us. And, that’s where we’ve been throughout the season. Unfortunately, we didn’t swing it as well as we needed to. We had as four hit inning to get to the three spot. Again, at the end of the day, we got the W.”
The Warhawks travel west to face Louisiana Tech on Wednesday night, before heading to Troy to square off against the Trojans this weekend.
