It didn’t take long for Alene Dearmon to spot the Hixson Ford Pay it Forward sign.
“I want to Pay it Forward!” she yelled out.
This wasn’t her first time trying to spot us, so she knew exactly what she wanted to do with the money.
Dearmon said “I want to pay it forward to the Children’s Church at Claiborne Assembly of God Church. It’s a small congregation and they don’t have a whole lot of money for the Children’s Church so they need it.”
So, we didn’t waste any more time. On behalf of the Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute we offered her $300 to Pay it Forward. And off we went for a big surprise…
Sunday School teacher Shelia Allan was very thankful for the visit.
“I was very surprised and shocked, but I’m just grateful and I’m blessed, and the church is going to be blessed” she said. And similar to her friend Alene, she had a good idea of how she was going to use the money.
“I always have plans for Childrens Church money. Puppets. My kids are gonna get special stuff that they wouldn’t have gotten any other way and I cant say what it is because if they’re watching they’ll know, but its gonna be awesome” said Shelia.
The holidays will be that much more special for some lucky children.
