The second of two suspects wanted in connection with several Union Parish burglaries has been arrested.
Romekian J. Hill, 26, of 619 Vergie Page Drive, Farmerville, was arrested Tuesday on warrants charging him with two counts of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. His bond is set at $16,600.
Garrick Lewis, 25, of 118 Mack Drive, Farmerville, was arrested February 10. He was booked into the parish detention center for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. His bond was set at $10,000.
Sheriff Dusty Gates said detectives began investigating a burglary that was reported February 8 at a residence on Iron Mountain Road near Spearsville. Taken from the residence, which is also used as an office, were a number of laptop computers and televisions.
Gates said that Lewis and Hill were developed as suspects when they were identified by witnesses who said the pair were trying to sell laptop computers out of a car they were driving a day before the burglary was reported.
With the arrest of Lewis, detectives then learned that Hill had reportedly burglarized another residence on Williams Road near Farmerville where a TV and X-Box were stolen.
The victim in the Williams Road burglary notified detectives that one of his friends had bought a TV from Lewis and the friend recognized it as belonging to the victim.
