The Call: Helping Union County Foster Children


You’re invited to a 5K Walk/Run Saturday, April 16th to benefit foster families with The Call, a non-profit Christian organization that recruits, trains and supports independent foster families in El Dorado, Ar.

Camp Fire Club #24, made up of a group of Jr. High students, is hosting this walk/run that starts at 9 a.m. at the City Walking Trail at the Fairgrounds in El Dorado.

Pre-registration is $20 and ends on April 1st.

After April 1st, late registration $25, but you can also register the day of the race at 7:30 a.m. for $30.

And there’s also a Kid’s Fun Run for children 11 and under who run for free with a donation of kid’s or adult shampoo/conditioner/body wash.

There will be awards and door prizes for different divisions and all proceeds go toward helping foster families and the services they provide to children in Union County.

Currently, there are 18 open foster homes in Union County and 11 homes are pending.
