Coronavirus in Louisiana: LDH reporting a total of 37,040 and 2,560 deaths

BATON ROUGE, La. (May 23, 2020) — The Louisiana Department of Health reported 115 new cases and 15 new deaths on Saturday, May 23. Today’s update brings the total number of cases across the state to 37,040 with a total of 2,560 deaths.

In Northeast Louisiana, there were 2 new cases reported. Ouachita Parish is still reporting the most cases and deaths in our area with 1,042 cases and 35 deaths, an increase of 1 casesince Friday’s update. Richland Parish reported 1 new death in Saturday’s update.

  • Ouachita Parish – 1,042 cases, 35 deaths (1 new cases)
  • Franklin Parish – 287 cases, 10 deaths (no change)
  • Union Parish – 287 cases, 16 deaths (no change)
  • Lincoln Parish – 133 cases, 14 deaths (no change)
  • Richland Parish – 114 cases, 3 deaths (1 new death)
  • Catahoula Parish – 112 cases, 3 deaths (no change)
  • Morehouse Parish – 110 cases, 5 deaths (no change)
  • Winn Parish – 112 cases, 2 deaths (no change)
  • Jackson Parish – 82 cases, 11 deaths (no change)
  • Concordia Parish – 69 cases, 5 deaths (no change)
  • East Carroll Parish – 62 cases (no change)
  • Caldwell Parish – 51 cases (no change)
  • Madison Parish – 54 cases (no change)
  • LaSalle Parish – 45 cases, 0 deaths (no change)
  • West Carroll Parish – 33 cases (no change)
  • Tensas Parish – 10 cases (no change)
