All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

UPDATE (02/11/2023): The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office has identified and arrested another suspect in the convenience store theft that took place in West Monroe, La. on February 8, 2023.

According to deputies, 47-year-old Brandon C. Flintroy was allegedly seen on security footage, along with three other suspects, taking several bottles of liquor from the store without purchasing the items. The suspects then exited the store and entered a black Mazda, which possessed a Texas License plate.

On February 10, 2023, investigators observed the vehicle traveling on Jackson Street in Monroe, La. Authorities then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and Flintroy immediately exited the car and fled the scene before the vehicle came to a complete stop.

After a brief pursuit, deputies detained the Flintroy and began searching the vehicle where they located over 200 grams of marijuana and a 9 mm handgun.

Authorities questioned him about the convenience store theft and he allegedly mentioned that he remembered entering the store, but he did not recall what took place after entering the establishment because he was intoxicated. Although Flintroy denied ownership of the handgun and narcotics, he mentioned that the items did not belong to the driver of the vehicle.

He was arrested and charged with Criminal Conspiracy, Resisting an Officer, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Illegal Carry of a Weapon in the Presence of Narcotics, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.


MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — A Monroe woman is behind bars after allegedly stealing approximately $1,094 worth of alcohol with three other suspects.

On Thursday, February 9, 2023, deputies of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office were called to a convenience store on the 6000 block of Cypress Street in West Monroe, La. due to four suspects allegedly stealing alcohol on February 8, 2023. During the investigation, 54-year-old Irma J. Smith was identified as a suspect after authorities viewed security footage.

Investigators then located Smith and questioned her about the theft. According to Smith, she left her home with a friend, who was occupied by another female subject, and they picked up an unknown male subject a short time later.

Smith went on to mention that her friend wanted to go to a store to get alcohol. Prior to arriving at the convenience store, they allegedly created a plan to steal alcohol. During the theft, Smith mentioned that she removed a couple of bottles from a shelf and exited the store without paying.

Smith was arrested and charged with Felony Theft and Criminal Conspiracy.
