The Grambling State baseball team fell 14-9 in game three of its weekend series vs. Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in-state rival Southern, on Sunday afternoon at Wilbert Ellis Field.
Cameron Bufford hits his conference-leading 11th home run of the year, a two-run shot to left field, stretching Grambling state’s advantage to 3-0 in the bottom of the second.
Southern added two more runs in the fifth inning to pull within two runs, 5-3. Southern outscored Grambling State 8-2 over the final three innings to clinch the series.
Grambling State returns to action on the diamond Tuesday at home with Jackson State. The first pitch is set for 6 p.m.
