UPDATE: Monroe man arrested after police say he was caught on camera removing items from a crime scene


UPDATE: MONROE, La. — Monroe police have arrested a man who they say was seen on camera removing items from a crime scene.

On Tuesday, Monroe Police asked for the public’s help to identify a suspect connected to a recent homicide. The same day, police were able to identify, locate, and arrest 37-year-old Aston Markail Bass.

According to court documents, Bass was seen on video removing what police say could have been shell casings from the crime scene.

Police say these items are connected to the September 20, 2019 shooting death of Darrell Stevenson.

Bass was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on one count of Obstruction of Justice. His bond has not been set at this time.

ORIGINAL: MONROE, La. — The Monroe Police Department is asking the public’s help to identify a suspect in regards to a homicide investigation.

They are trying to identify the man in these photos.

Police say he could be driving a maroon Pontiac Grand Prix.
