West Monroe recycling center celebrates opening day

(09/05/18) The long awaited recycling center in West Monroe opened its doors this morning. By 10am, over 50 people already took recyclables to the center, and more people stepping up to do their part. The overall response of the center so far has been overwhelmingly positive 

You can take plastics, tin, aluminum, paper and cardboard to the center from 7a.m. to 3p.m. on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s. 

The new center is one of the cities new programs launched by Mayor Stacey Mitchell. In addition to recycling, the center offers a sense of community and pride to both the residents of West Monroe and employees of the center.
