(11/7/18) The Grayson Police Department has arrested a West Monroe man after he arranged to meet with a 16-year-old through her father.
According to Grayson Police, on November 5, 2018, they received a report from a father who was receiving messages from a 59-year-old man in West Monroe.
The father believed that the messages were intended for his 16-year-old daughter, who was his profile picture. Grayson police initiated an investigation, and on November 6, 2018, they arrested Rickey L Grant, of West Monroe, as he arrived at a location he had chosen to meet the underage victim.
Grant brought numerous items to the victim, including alcoholic beverages, marijuana, and a pizza. He admitted that he was aware the victim was 16 years old and that he knew it was wrong.
At the time of his arrest, he questioned officers as to “why they would do this to him.”
Grant was charged with one count Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor, 1 count Possession of Marijuana, and 1 count Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. More charges are possible as the investigation progresses.
