(8/17/18) Habitat for Humanity in Ouachita Parish has gotten a big donation to help build affordable housing.
$15,000 dollars from Wells Fargo was donated for the house on Brookwood Drive in Monroe.
The team celebrated in typical fashion and kept building it.
Big money donations are a boost, but habitat wants any help it can get.
“We don’t have the money to build a new home from start to finish commercially. The volunteers play a huge role in helping us let these sticks and this concrete be a home for somebody,” says Forrest Fife, Habitat for Humanity of Ouachita President.
