National Public Lands Day at Poverty Point

Celebrate National Public Lands Day at Poverty Point World Heritage Site. Join in on a flint knapping demonstration and learn how people long ago transformed a rock into such a delicate work of art. Demonstrations will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

“School of Rock” at Strauss Youth Academy for the Arts

Time:     Saturday 2:00pm & 7:00pm, Sunday 3:00pm

This musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher. Completely disinterested in academic work, Dewey decides to create his own curriculum, turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.
