Community support continues to grow for Boley Elementary.
Today the school received a generous donation from Walmart.
Walmart presented Principal Sandy Bates with a check for over $16,000.
Also today, West Monroe fire officials confirm that the school was struck by lightning and they have pictures to prove it.
Images were captured from two nearby businesses at the exact moment the lightning struck the building.
They say it happened at exactly 3:31 p.m. on Saturday, but alarm did not go off until 4:48 p.m. due to the blaze starting in the attic.
It took about 7 hours to get the fire contained and crews worked until Monday morning to put out hot spots.
Firefighters would like to thank the community for its support as they worked to contain the massive fire.
