Hundreds of people remembered the life of a Farmerville teen whose life was cut short in a car accident Monday night.
A candlelight vigil was held at the Farmerville First Assembly Church in honor of 17-year-old Alexis Weakly.
The teen, also known as ‘Lexi’, was killed in a car accident on Cherry Road.
Attendees also lit hundreds of candles in her memory.
Family members, friends and community members came together in prayer– to remember her life and legacy.
“She always had hope no matter what was going on in her life and always gave out love and that’s what we saw,” Youth Pastor Allen Norris said. “That was the expression of it.”
“She left a huge impact on everyone here and no one from this town will ever be the same from it,” church member Katherine Norris added.
State Police said this was the 35th fatal car accident in the Troop-F area this year.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Lexi’s family cover her funeral costs.
