UPDATE: (2/26/19) Union Parish Sheriff’s Office is still trying to locate RayLee Yates and her daughter Ginny Yates.
Chris Yates is RayeLee’s husband and father to Ginny. He contacted the sheriff’s office Monday afternoon stating he hadn’t heard from his wife or daughter since early Monday morning.
“When he came back home, a lot of stuff had been moved out of the house including everything taken out of their bank accounts and he had been trying to contact his wife and daughter ever since then,” said Sergeat Cade Nolan, Union Parish Sheriff’s Office.
According to Chris Yate’s Facebook page, his wife, Raylee Yates kidnapped their daughter. Detectives haven’t described this as a kidnapping. An amber or missing person alert hasn’t been issued because it doesn’t meet the criteria.
“There have been no crimes committed, we just want to check the welfare of the child and her mother,” said Sgt. Nolan.
Detectives are working to find out if the child and mother are safe. They’ve reached out to the mother’s family and friends on facebook and have tried to contact her. So far, they haven’t heard anything about their wherabouts.
They can’t arrest the mother because she hasn’t done anyting illegal.
Detectives believe Ginny and her mother may be in a 2004 Ford Ranger pickup. If you’ve seen her or know where she is call the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office at (318) 368-3124.
