UPDATE: Two arrested after victim pistol whipped

UPDATE (9/20/18) West Monroe Police have arrested two people in regards to a pistol whipping incident that happened earlier this month.

21-year-old Jayvonta Gill was arrested Wednesday, September 19, 2018.

Jayvonta faces charges of the attack itself. He is currently being held in the Ouachita Correction Center on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated second degree battery, attempted second degree murder, and home invasion.

His mother, Jannetta Gill, faces charges of accessory after the fact.

Both of them are being held without bond as of Thursday, September 20th.


(9/7/18) The West Monroe Police Department is currently investigating an assault case.

Officials tell us the incident happened at 301 Ludwig Avenue in West Monroe Friday afternoon around 1:00 p.m.

Major May says two suspects pistol whipped a victim.

The victim was transported to a hospital.

Neighbors tell us the victim was a male in his twenties.

There is no word on injuries at this time.

No arrests have been made.
