UPDATE: The search for 7-year-old Daysean Combest will resume Wednesday morning.
Search teams have ended their search for the night.
Shreveport Fire Chief Scott Wolverton says they have searched the area of ditches for Daysean Combest, as well as underground drainage pipes.
Chief Wolverton says they are now looking into the bayou where the ditch drains into.
Wolverton says the search will continue while there is still daylight.
ORIGINAL: Multiple emergency units are on Emory Street in Shreveport looking for 7-year-old Daysean Combest, who was swept up in the waters of a drainage ditch he was trying to cross, according to Shreveport Fire Department EMS Officer Clarence Reese.
Reece said in addition to SFD emergency personnel and Shreveport Police, swift water technicians from Shreveport’s Water and Sewer Department are on the scene with maps of the city’s drainage ditches and are aiding in the search.
