Authorities have released the name of the shooter in a West Monroe attempted murder-suicide case.
Police said 44-year-old Torris Shaw was the person responsible for shooting his wife and her daughter, both in the head, before turning the gun on himself.
He was pronounced dead at the scene Monday afternoon.
The two victims, whose names aren’t being released yet, were taken to a local hospital alive.

Stewart Ave. in West Monroe was filled with flashing lights, caution tape and law enforcement officers after an argument turned deadly.
Neighbor Arthur Thompson and his family said they witnessed the situation unfold.
“Fire trucks, ambulances, everybody started showing up in numbers,” Thompson said.
Authorities said a husband shot his wife and her daughter, both in the head, before shooting and killing himself.
They added that this isn’t the first time police have responded to domestic dispute calls at this same home.
Police responded to a call just one day before this shooting.
“Every two or three days there are police sitting on that same street,” Thompson added.
Now neighbors, like the Thompsons, said their guards are up and they are going to be well aware of their surroundings.
Officials are currently working a shooting in West Monroe off of Stewart.
Authorities tell us they found three people shot.
Two victims were taken to the hospital and the shooter is deceased.
Neighbors tell us the husband allegedly shot the mother and her daughter.
Neighbors say the man is the one who died.
Witnesses at the scene also say the shooting happened after an argument inside the home.
The names of all parties involved will not be released until appropriate notifications have been made.
