UPDATE (1/16/19) Officials have arrested a Ruston man they say was connected to a kidnapping and rape of a young woman in Jackson Parish last week.

Desmond Brewster of Ruston was arrested Wednesday, January 16, 2019, in connection with the kidnapping and rape of a young woman that occurred on January 10, 2019 on Edmiston Road in Jackson Parish.

The Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office obtained warrants Wednesday on Desmond Brewster for second degree rape, second degree kidnapping, false impersonation of a peace officer, aggravated battery and false imprisonment.

This subject was arrested by the Ruston Police Department and Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department and turned over to the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office. 

Brewster is currenlty being held at the Jackson Parish Correctional Center on a $1,000,000.00 bond.


(1/12/19) The Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office took a complaint on Friday night in reference to a sexual assault.

The adult victim was walking behind the EZ-Mart on Hwy 167 in Ruston when the suspect pulled up in a black in color Tahoe in which the victim got into.

The victim was offered a ride and then advised she was under arrest.

She was taken just inside Jackson Parish on Edmiston Road where she was raped by the suspect then thrown to the ground, choked and pepper sprayed.

The victim does not know the suspect but has identified him as a light skin black male.

The picture of the vehicle is the vehicle that picked the victim up.
