United Way of Northeast Louisiana is kicking off its new campaign for the upcoming year.
It hopes to fight hunger across the region.
Leaders say donations have increased by nearly 11% since last year.
Organizers say the campaign is designed to assist long-term recovery efforts from March’s historic flooding event.
“This year’s been a tough year for our community. That’s the time when organizations like United Way really make an impact on lives that our in need in our community.”, explains Blake Wheelis, 2016 Campaign Chairman for United Way NELA.
