El Dorado officials are looking to crack down on a problem that seems to be common in most places, texting and driving.
Arkansas law prohibits texting and driving regardless of the driver’s age, and it is also a primary offense law.
This gives officers the right to stop drivers without observing any other violation.
Officials say many times it can be worse than drinking and driving, taking their attention off of the road.
Officials say fines can go up to $100.
