(4/29/19) MONROE, La. — Students at the University of Louisiana at Monroe now have an opportunity to experience the next generation in learning thanks to a new virtual reality lab.
The lab will feature 28 student stations with headsets, headphones, and an instructor station inside the ULM library.
Professors will be able to book the lab for classes and the students will be able to access it during open hours twice a week.
ULM Professor of Biology Joydeep Bhattacharjee says the lab will really help them take teaching to the next level.
“Here students can put on the virtual reality goggles and it literally transports them to the place that the video was shot. It is just a phenomenal opportunity more for the students, but it excites us as professors because this really will give students an unparalleled experience to experience virtual reality.”
Right now students have access to programs spanning several disciplines.
