(9/17/18) It was another deadly couple of days in Shreveport. Two men are dead. One shot and killed by an officer. Police say the other was found dead lying in the street.
The man shot and killed by Shreveport police on San Jacinto Avenue has been identified mas 31 year old Jerry Foster.
Neighbors reacted to news about the shooting of Shreveport resident Jerry Foster by police.
Billy Target, a resident of the neighborhood, said, “The community needs to come together and say enough is enough.”
The incident happening Sunday on San Jacinto Avenue. Police say Foster was firing shots and holding a woman at gunpoint.
One of the officers shot Foster. Neighbors say they’re tired of the violence.
“If we want to drive it out of our community we have to do what’s necessary as a community,” Target said.
In another deadly incident, police are investigating the shooting death of a man on Kennedy Drive Monday morning.”If it’s not a shooting it’s another thing,” said Gene Goines, resident.
Goines has lived in the Mooretown Community for several years where police say the victim was found with a gunshot wound to his head.
“It’s sad that it happens so often. That we just get used to it,” Goines said.
The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on the leave. The officer’s name has not been released. The name of the man shot and killed on Kennedy Drive has not been released.
