Two arrested in undercover meth deal

Two Union Parish men have been arrested by sheriff’s narcotics agents after they were successful in pulling undercover purchases of methamphetamine.

Arrested on warrants charging them with distribution of meth were Nicholas A. Hartman, 33, and Johnathan Thompson, 43, both of 514 Ward St., Farmerville. They were booked May 9.

According to an arrest affidavit, the agents went to the Farmerville address on April 18 armed with the distribution arrest warrants. Agents also had obtained a search warrant for the residence.

While searching the residence, agents found two plastic bags containing suspected meth with a total weight of 1.99 grams and one legend drug capsule. Hartman was additionally charged at that time with possession of meth with intent to distribute and possession of a legend drug.

Hartman’s total bond on the three charges against him was set at $18,500 while Thompson’s bond was set at $2,500.
