LINCOLN Parish (4/16/19) Louisiana State Police have cleared the scene after two separate accidents involving 18-wheelers had I-20 at a stand still.
According to state police, there were two separate accidents on I-20 westbound around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning near the rest areas in Lincoln Parish.
Troopers say the first accident involved a pick-up rear ending an 18-wheeler. The driver of the pick up was airlifted to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As traffic slowed with other motorists looking at the first accident, another 18-wheeler ran off the road and hit the cable barrier in the median. The 18-wheeler was carrying 9×8 sheets of metal that fell off the truck.
Officials worked to clear the debris for about an hour and 30 minutes.
Traffic was reportedly backed up all the way to the Ouachita Parish line.
