(9/5/18) According to our partners at The News-Star, two inmates at the Swanson Center for Youth are facing charges after reportedly beating a guard Sunday morning.
An arrest affidavit for Michael Savant, age 17, Oberlin, states the suspect was observed on the video surveillance system turning a camera to obscure the view of the Holly Dormitory.
A Juvenile Justice Specialist was assaulted by multiple inmates at the facility approximately one hour later and sustained a fractured jaw in the attack.
Savant was specifically identified by the guard through a written statement and telephone conversation. A second person also witnessed Savant kick and hit the JJS with closed fists during the attack, per arrest reports.
