It’s B-Y-O-C or “Build Your Own Computer” at Washington Middle School in El Dorado.
Every sixth grader will build Piper Computers.
The students will work in pairs while using a kit to build a wooden case, a controller box, speakers, and switches.
Teachers say this helps students to think critically.
“It is challenging, and they do get frustrated, but we kind of, our expectation is to keep trying, and you’ll eventually get it, and they have exceeded those expectations,” said Catherine Kozubski, teacher.
The computer build will wrap up at the end of the month.
