(9/27/18) Seniors in El Dorado made sure they had a clear bill of health today.
The ‘Head to Toe’ event was held at Champagnolle Landing Senior Center for adults 50 and older.
It offered balance assessments, exercise and nutrition tips, flu shots, and hernia screenings all free of charge.
The University of Arkansas Medical Sciences South Arkansas Center on Aging says it’s important to offer seniors the services they might not get otherwise.
Education Coordinator Lori DeWese says, “The community plays another huge role in this event. Everybody comes out and supports it, gives their resources out, their education, their knowledge, their expertise whether they’re offering some kind of free service.”
Participants in the event included Walgreens, Kindred at Home, Lifetouch Hospice, and the Medical Center of South Arkansas.
